Inky Sisu is really Leena Niemela, a former English instructor and post-secondary administrator. She has taken the best of both worlds to her forest paradise in Qualicum Beach, BC and offers writing, editing, and mentorship services to central Vancouver Island businesses and creatives. Whether designing your latest office manual or workshopping that poem you wrote last night, Leena is passionate about it all. She can’t wait to share that inky sisu with you.
Leena completed her Master of Arts (English) from University of Victoria in 2004 and a Master of Fine Arts (Creative Writing) from University of British Columbia in 2017. She also participated in Simon Fraser’s The Writer’s Studio in 2013 and is a current member of the Editor’s Association of Canada. Her writing is a mix of poetry and creative non-fiction that explores her finnish-canadian heritage, among other varied interests like winter gypsies, fox eyes at night, ghosts and blue girls, coincidental investigations, found words, and lost jewels.
